The WW2 Cyprus Regiment Re-Enactors Group is a historical and performative organisation, whose members share a common interest in World War Two history and the desire to portray to the best of there abilities the spirit and help of the Cypriot contribution to the defeat of Nazi ideology in Europe between 1939 to 1945. Modern day re-enactments are as much a means of historical story telling as they are good fun. We believe that the smaller ethnic countries of the commonwealth have been poorly represented in these mass story telling events and would like to highlight the Cypriot contributions in the allied war effort. Our purpose is to increase awareness of that contribution and to educate the general public about the Cyprus Regiment though talks and performance at living history events. |

Heroic and gruesome battles are replaced with long journeys bringing supplies to the front lines and casualties of war away from it, all the while avoiding hidden mines and air attacks. Comradeship between Turkish and Greek Cypriots, working and living together, fighting for a common cause is also brought to the foreground. Our purpose is to increase awareness of their contribution and to educate the general public about the Cyprus Regiment though talks and performance at living history events as well as using this webiste to outlet information. |
