We Were There

The huge involvement of the men and women from the many smaller commonwealth nations in the allied war effort is one of the lesser known stories of the Second World War. Cyprus provided food, manpower, equipment and support in theatres throughout the world and made a vital contribution to the war effort. We the ethnic minorities people of the commonwealth also played a significant role. At the end of 1945 over three million men were under arms, many thousands more were also involved in the war efforts. The vast majority were volunteers.


The Cyprus Regiment Re-Enactors Group

The WW2 Cyprus Regiment Re-Enactors Group is a historical organisation, whose members share a common interest in World War Two history and the desire to portray to the best of their abilities the spirit and help of the Cypriot contribution to the defeat of Nazi ideology in Europe between 1939 to 1945.
